Information & Tips
So that you don't miss anything at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championship presented by Mercedes-Benz and the Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships powered by Velosolutions, we have put together what your perfect day could look like!
STOP 1: Valley station Asitzbahn gondola
Are you curious what the day will bring? No matter if on the final day or the days before, the first way leads to the Info-Point at the valley station of the Asitzbahn. The employees of Saalfelden Leogang Touristik are happy to help and will certainly give you one or two insider tips. And don't forget to download the official WM App. With it you will definitely not miss anything.
STOP 2: Team- & Expo-Area
Meet the Stars. A stroll around the festival grounds is often rewarded with unexpected, prominent encounters. In the Team & Expo area you can take an exclusive look behind the scenes of professional mountain biking. With a bit of luck you might even have the chance to chat with one or the other star himself - with "baby elephant distance" of course ;) That's something!
STOP 3: Up the mountain
Climb aboard the Asitzbahn gondola lift and ride up to the start of the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz (at the middle station). From here you can make your way back to the finish line along the track. Make sure you wear sturdy footwear, especially in bad weather! Along the track you can experience fist-hand how the kings and queens of downhill mountain biking hurtle fearlessly down the mountainside. There is a good chance that they will leave you gaping and that you will soon start to cheer loundly to push the riders.
Right next to the route you can experience first-hand how the men and women of downhill sport seem to fearlessly throw themselves down the mountain - you will probably keep your mouth open one time or another!
STOP 4: To the Cross Country and E-MTB - course at the valley station
Unlike the 2012 World Cup, the cross country race will be held in Leogang. It will be at the same hillside as the downhill track. The key data of the XCO circuit: 3.6 kilometres length, 210 metres in altitude, 5-6 laps. The Cross Country races will be expecially exciting in the feed- and assistant-area, which will be visible from the start and finish area.
STOP 5: Back at the finish area
Depending on which day you visit us, you can experience many other exciting things back at the finish area. Here is a small extract: Signing sessions in the Expo Area, participatory competitions - and much more! Not to forget the Red Bull Pumptrack World Championships, which will be held for the first time on our brand new Velosolutions Pumptrack this weekend.
On the final day of downhill World Champs, don’t forget to return to the finish area just in time for the showdown of the top 20 Men Elite riders to experience the raging crowd. The atmosphere among the passionate fans will give you goose bumps!
